CATIA v-5 uses a file management tree to display the features of a CATIA part or assembly.

The photo you see below is actually a link to a YouTube video titled, CATIA V5 - Aircraft Design (Generative Shape Design) by Uçak Tasarımı.

It is a good example of the CATIA File management System. Notice how as the cursor moves down the CATIA File Management Tree how the files go from hidden to visible. The appearance is that the aircraft is being designed that quickly. What is actually happening, is as the files are being opened the parts become visible on the screen.

That was a fun video and I hope you noticed how the nodes on file management tree were a detailed file for each feature of the design. By clicking on the node parts became visible. It was also a fun example of how detailed parts are designed and assembled in CATIA v-5.
